PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE NATIONAL WASTE INFORMATION REGULATIONS, 2012

MacRobert wishes to draw your attention to the following important notice published on 06 July 2018

The Minister of Environmental Affairs has given notice of her intention to make amendments to the National Waste Information Regulations, 2012, under section 69(1)(t), (y), (aa) and (ee) read with section 73 of the NEM:WA.
 
The Notice proposes inter alia amendments to regulations pertaining to: The List of persons who must register in the SAWIS in terms of the Generation, Recovery and Recycling; Treatment and Disposal (R, R, T D) of Waste; The Exportation  and Transportation of Hazardous Waste; Reporting requirements; General Waste Types for reporting to the SAWIS; Hazardous waste types for reporting to the SAWIS; and Waste Management Methods i.e the List of the R R T & D Codes for Categorization.
 
Members of the public are invited to submit their written representations on, or objections to, the proposed amendments to the Minister of Environmental Affairs, within 30 days after publication of the aforementioned Notice, being 3 August 2018.
